From China to Russia; Covid-19 cases are rising: Is India safe? | India Development Debate

covid-19 No Comments »

Daily covid cases in the UK have been rising above the 50,000-mark, while China, too, has been recording a flare-up in cases in various parts of the country. A new sub-lineage of the Delta variant, the AY.4.2 strain, which has been detected in the UK and “in very low numbers” in India, maybe “more contagious” and “more transmissible” according to some scientists, however, conclusive findings are yet to make about the new mutant. The AY.4.2 is currently classified as a “variant under Investigation” in the UK, but not yet categorised as a “variant of concern” by the W.H.O. Countries such as Russia, Israel, Ukraine, Singapore are also reporting a spike in fresh cases, with many reimposing lockdowns and other restrictions. Is India safe from the covid resurgence being reported in parts of the world? We discuss the India Development Debate tonight with Dr Shashank Joshi, Maharashtra Covid-19 task force member & Dean – Indian College of Physicians & Consultant – Lilavati hospital.

How Coronavirus Kills: Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) & COVID 19 Treatment

How COVID-19 causes fatalities from acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) by pulmonologist and critical care specialist Dr. Seheult of https://www.medcram.com
This video illustrates how viruses such as the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 can cause pneumonia or widespread lung inflammation resulting in ARDS.
Includes evidenced-based ARDS treatment breakthrough strategies: Low tidal volume ventilation, paralysis, and prone positioning.

Note: this video was recorded on January 28, 2020, with the best information available. Acute respiratory distress is, of course, not the ONLY way COVID 19 causes fatalities (other causes include heart failure, thrombosis (stroke), etc.)
